America’s Next Top Model Blog

Danielle made a good point that a lot of models (eg: from Brazil, Africa) have accents that reflect where they’re from.  I never though about it from that perspective, but Twiggy has the British accent.  The only flaw with that logic, though, is that the contest was America’s Next Top Model, not Next Top International Model.  So, point for Danielle that lots of models have accents.  Counter-point that those models aren’t usually from America.

Gotta love the audience calling out Jade.  I’m sure it’s part of being a spokesperson that Danielle can’t down any of the other models.  I think Cover Girl is having a little too much influence over the competition.  If they want to control it as much as it feels like they are, maybe it should be America’s Next Cover Girl.

Interesting that Danielle and Mollie are friends.  I wouldn’t have picked that one.

That was kind of weird how they gave it to us.  In that, I mean, when they flashed the picture of Danielle for like a second, and then went back to Tyra, and then to Danielle.  It seems like in the past few, they’ve had a shot with the models and the flat screen in the background so you could see it all happening at once.  At first, I wondered if it was a mistake and for a few seconds I thought maybe there was stll hope.

By hope, I mean, that Joanie would win.  Not that I don’t love Danielle or anything, because she’s awesome.  Her and Joanie dancing in the foyer of the hotel-apartment-room was awesome.  I just feel like Joanie was an actual better model.  I’m not the only one.  On the other hand, maybe the judges picked Danielle because she was actually the second best.  My theory is that they knew Joanie would be able to get tons of work after the show, but they were worried that Danielle might not do as well.  So, they gave her the guarantee, knowing that Joanie would be strong enough to carry on and fend for herself.

Whatever the case, I am happy for Danielle.  It’ll certainly be interesting to see how her Cover Girl spots turn out when she does "My Life As" during the next Cycle.  (Which, I believe, will be on the new CW)

So, yeah, it’s a little late to start the blog now… but since it’s one of the shows that’s "guaranteed" to be on the so-called CW, it isn’t too early to start the blog!
